So, will you tell me about the murder?

Wearing a midnight-blue avant-garde sequin cocktail dress with a plunging v-neckline and no jewelry except for pearl stud earrings, she looked stunning. Her lips glistened into a smile when he touched his nose to hers, coming into a kiss, almost.
Ash took in the trace of Dior Sauvage aftershave on his chin, and her eyes closed as she gave a little moan. Then she pulled back, took a silk apron off a hook, and joined him in preparation of the meal, as if no time had passed since their last date, way back when.
“I missed you,” he said.
Ash answered by letting him bite into a strawberry she was nibbling on. Having washed some blueberries, she added them to the mix along with a cup of sugar. “Your pepper mill is nearly empty.”
“Let me fill it for you,” said Michael. And lowering his voice, he added, “Sweetheart.”
She gave a little giggle, so he figured he need not be too cautious in using terms of endearment.
Peppercorns danced their way with a pinging sound into the mill. Michael dialed it to the exact grind he wanted. Then he sprinkled freshly ground pepper into the bowl, and for good measure, added a dash of hot pepper sauce and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Ash toasted some slivered almonds, to be stirred into the concoction just before serving on top of the poultry dish. The aroma tingled his nostrils. It was wonderfully enticing.
Next, she took the chicken out of the refrigerator and stuffed its cavity with a bunch of fresh thyme, both halves of a lemon, and a head of garlic, cut crosswise.
“Is that a new dress?” he asked.
In place of a reply, she blushed.
“Looks beautiful on you.”
She turned to the sink and splashed some cold water on her face, to make the blush go away, but it didn’t. “So, will you tell me about the murder?”
“I’ll do better than that. I’m going to show you.”
“Really?”
“Virtually.”
“I’m dying to see!”
“I’m dying to see it myself, sweetheart. Later.”
With impatient strokes, Ash brushed the outside of the chicken with melted butter and sprinkled it with salt and freshly ground pepper. Then she tied the legs together with kitchen string and tucked the wing tips under the body of the chicken.
“Oh,” she said. “You’re such a tease!”
“And so are you,” he said.

Reads As A Stand-Alone In A Series Of Stories About Lenny And Natasha. The Flashback To World War II Is A Fascinating Tale Of Espionage With A Backdrop Of Romance!

This is the fourth book in the Still Life with Memories series, a five book series with a sixth brief book bite. I have not read the first books in the series and cannot comment on the series as a whole to this point; however, this book reads well as a stand-alone. Fans of The Notebook may enjoy this book, as some aspects are reminiscent of that story.

This is the story of Lenny and Natasha. It opens and closes when they are somewhat older. Lenny has become the caretaker of Natasha, whose memory has been slipping for some time. She has few lucid moments, and it weighs heavily on Lenny. They do not yet have a diagnosis for her condition. Lenny longs for his teenage son, who quit school and is travelling abroad, to return home to him. They have a complicated relationship, however.

The bulk of the book is a flashback to a time before Lenny and Natasha marry. Lenny reflects back to a time when Natasha was at her peak. She was a successful Russian pianist, and he a would-be writer enlisted in the Marines in World War II. After taking time out to return to New York because of his father’s illness and death, Lenny is called back into service. He had spent time with Natasha while in New York, and the young couple was crazy about one another. Duty takes him to London, and love inspires Natasha to hazard a trip across the dangerous waters of the Atlantic and join a USO tour in England, bringing her to Lenny.

Lenny’s talent has caused him to be recruited to join a secret mission to mislead the Germans. He has been tasked to write love letters with false information about the Allied forces in an effort meant to misdirect German intelligence, whose spy network had infiltrated the British postal service. With Natasha’s arrival, Lenny is ordered to find another woman to write letters to, as Natasha’s presence eliminates her as a credible recipient. His friend Ryan’s ex-girlfriend happened to have had eyes for Lenny back in New York, and though Lenny was devoted to Natasha, he could come up with no other option and was forced to begin a correspondence with Lana. The fact that he cannot divulge the truth to Natasha weighs heavily on his conscience, and the possibility of her discovering the letters has him living in fear.

The war story is a fascinating tale of espionage with a backdrop of romance. It is nicely written. The plot is complex. The characters are unique and authentic. The story is written in first person in Lenny’s POV. I rate the book four stars.

As for the Audio: it is well-performed, with unique voices for the various characters.

Very well written with excellent plot and well developed characters

Well developed characters, a story that flows smoothly throughout and the plot is excellent. It is really nice to read a book but it’s not the first in the series but you don’t have to keep re-reading things that happened in book one. It is well written and kept me interested from the beginning.

A Gripping Medical Thriller!

An in-depth review for my medical thriller, Overdose:

Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2020
Overdose is part of a series of thrillers. I found this to be a gripping medical thriller that will hook you in right away! Ash, the main protagonist, has recovered from a coma. She has headaches and vertigo and can’t seem to get back to normal since having brain surgery by a doctor that she doesn’t trust.

The more she delves into this doctor’s life, Dr. Patel, she finds things don’t add up. Who is he? How come she can’t find anything on him for a good part of his life?

When Dr. Patel becomes interested in her romantically she goes on a date with him to try to find out more about him and his dead wife. Ash is in a relationship with Michael who is trying to understand what she is doing. She becomes more embroiled in the doctor’s life when the waitress of the restaurant where they dined hands her a pink cell phone as she is getting into a cab. This is the last thing the waitress does before she is shot. Michael helps Ash deal with what she witnessed by the recent murder and what she sees on the cell phone.

The author has created a mystery, thriller, romance that will keep you turning pages until the satisfying ending. I have read other books by this author that were of different genres that I enjoyed also. She did a good job with this genre too.

Overkill is a fast-paced, suspenseful and beautifully written!

I'm honored that Aaron Paul Lazar, the prolific author of many suspense and romance novels, has posted this review for my new thriller, Overkill:

Overkill, by Uvi Poznansky, is the latest release from this USA Today Bestselling Author. I have long been a genuine fan of all her books, from the romantic stories to the biblical novels, and now to this delightful thriller! I read the first book in the series, Coma Confidential—a wonderful psychological thriller— and was thrilled when Overkill was released so that I could continue to follow young college student Ashley in her startling exploits.

Told from the point of view of Ash, formerly a comatose patient, Overkill is poetically written and finely executed, involving new storylines that could have been taken from contemporary headlines.

Ash flees her college life in California, leaving boyfriend Michael behind, hoping for a much needed respite after the events in Coma Confidential.

The little cottage she rents from an acquaintance of her father ends up not being as idyllic as expected, when she walks in the door and there’s a horrific odor and stains beneath the rugs. Who died here? And why is everyone so closed mouth about the history of the cottage?

The story heats up when Ash is caught in a school shooting. The child she protects is a young neighbor boy, whose estranged father is killed in the rampage. Ash becomes involved in the investigation and becomes close to the mother and boy, helping the family wherever she can.

Overkill is a fast-paced, suspenseful and beautifully written tale that you must enjoy for yourself!

- Highly recommended by Aaron Lazar, USA Today Bestselling Author.

Audiobook cover for Ash Suspense Thrillers: Trilogy

Tah-Dah! Here's my design for the audiobook cover for Ash Suspense Thrillers: Trilogy

I borrowed the eerie background from Coma Confidential, but darkened it so it'll fit with the late night scenes in Overkill and Overdose. Then, I attached each one of the three frames to a thin metal rod that runs across the cover left to right, indicating that you can give each book in turn a whirl, around the rod and in your mind.

Ash Suspense Thrillers: Trilogy

My new release will be available in Kindle edition on June 21, 2020 -- but it's Print edition has just been published... So excited to put the trilogy in your hands just in time for Father's Day:
Coma Confidential:
Ash finds herself in the ER diagnosed with coma. She has no memory of what has happened to her, but what she can do—despite what everyone around her might think—is listen to the conversations of her visitors. One of them is the man who raped her.
For Ash, there is little time to gather clues: blackouts are happening not only in the hospital but throughout California. The Russian hackers who are intent on sabotaging the power grid are trying to blackmail her boyfriend, Michael, into helping their cause. And what better way for them to do it but by kidnapping her out of the hospital?
Overkill:
The last thing Ash expects when she lands in Clearwater, Florida is to be stalked by a troubled teenager. If that's not bad enough, she is caught in a shooting spree next to the nearby elementary school. The cops think it’s an attempt at mass killing, but Ash wonders if the only victim was specifically targeted by the killer. Will she manage to identify him and have him arrested before he comes after her?
Overdose:
After recovering from coma, Ash discovers that the man who performed her brain surgery has a questionable medical experience and a dark past, starting with his medical mission in India ten years ago and ending just recently, with his wife’s suicide. Should Ash expose him, at the risk of becoming vulnerable to his revenge?

~~Interesting Assortment of Recipes~~

Excited to find a review from Hall of Fame reviewer Serenity for the multi-author cookbook, Virtually Yummy:

Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2020
This book has recipes that were from families or obtained from travels around the world by 8 authors. I must admit that I love to cook and am always on the search for new ones. And, the ingredients must be readily available and more importantly the east of preparation is a must. I also prefere those recipes that have few ingredients.

In this book, recipes are indeed varied and include some of the following: Berry Salsa, Micah's Hearty Homemade Chili, Super Quick Pantry Chili, Mexican Omelet, Rutabaga Soup. Pad Thai Noodles with Chicken and Shrimp, Apple Cobbler, Cheesecake Filled Strawberries, Tart Tatin anda Salty Dog.

For each recipe the ingredients are listed first and then the instructions. One thing I appreciated is that the temperature for baking is listed in both F and C. An added bonus for some readers, for sure.

The ones I selected to make at some point are: Rutabaga Soup, Mexican Omelet, Apple Cobbler and also Cheesecake Filled Strawberries. The Pad Thai Noodles with Chicken and Shrimp sounds delicious but am wondering how it would taste if the shrimp were frozen instead of fresh...? That is one disadvantage to living in Vermont...fresh seafood is difficult to obtain...So, that recipe is a maybe for me.

After each recipe is presented, there is a short excerpt from a book. That will give the reader a 'taste' of what the author has written.

All in all, a recipe for everyone, I believer. Looking forward to making some of these soon.

Most highly recommended.

Another well written story by Uvi

Born in Potsdam, Germany, Gisela Sedimayer has a love for the written word. Having moved to New Zealand and then to Austria, and having fought her cancer with the best weapon--creativity--she is the author of the Talon series, bringing the story and the characters to life over the course of several years. I am thrilled to find her review of my book, Overkill:

And here i am reading another story by Uvi Poznansky. After reading 12 other stories by her, I am really surprised about "Overkill". Different from the others. But I enjoyed reading about Ash and her adventures. Adventures?
Well, moving away from her home to Florida to overcome the previous trauma, being raped, she made her home here, only to be troubled by a stalker and the terrible smell in her new home, she moved in.
If that is not enough, she is caught in a school shooting at a nearby school. But only one adult was killed.
Why? Ash is wondering.
But not giving to much away, I only say, it was well worth reading the story about Ash.
Get it and find out what else Ash had to endure, before she decides to go home again, to her beloved boyfriend.

The various authors of the High-Tech Crime Solvers series – Uvi Poznansky, Robert I. Katz, Edwin Dasso, P.D. Workman, Jacquie Biggar, Casi McLean, Barbara Ebel, and Libby Fischer Hellman – have entertained us with their Virtually Lace/Undead/Harmless/Dead, Timeless, etc stories in which culinary foci are integral parts of their stories. Now they bring us to the table (or, to the kitchen then table!) with a range of recipes that reflect moments in their books.

The variety of foods outlined is wide – soups, tarts, dips, omelets, main dishes, deserts from the many locales around the world where their stories take flight. The recipes are offered with skill – ingredients, preparation, how to serve – and accompanying each recipe is an excerpt form the story referenced.

This is both a fine recipe book as well as an appetizer to stimulate searching for each of the novels represented. Tasty indeed! Grady Harp, May 20
