You won a kiss from me, and now you’re hesitating

Ellie turned out the light and dropped the flashlight to the floor.
“Because you participated in this stupid spin the bottle game, you won a kiss from me, and now you’re hesitating”
“Yes, I know. Just not sure who goes first in this situation.”
“Would it help if I told you there’s no one else I’d rather share my first kiss with?” came her soft reply, as she brushed her fingers through my hair.
Squeezing my eyes closed, I puckered up, hoping Ellie knew how to put me out of my misery.
Instead, she gently tapped my chin.
To my mortification, I saw she was smiling.
“What did I do wrong?”
“You looked like you were about to kiss your mother,” she teased. “What if I do the dirty deed first?”
With my masculinity at stake, I was at a loss until my Alpha male booted up and shared everything there was to know. I wrapped my hand around her neck, drawing her so close our eyelashes touched.
“Honey, I ain’t no mama’s boy,” I murmured, pressing my lips to hers.

"This anthology consists of twelve wonderful stories with the inherent theme of love and war contained in them. Out of the twelve authors, Uvi Poznansky is the only one that I was familiar with previously. So, in addition to becoming acquainted with new authors in this set, my 'to be read' pile has grown considerably. That is not a bad thing with the wind chill of a minus 10 as I write this review!!"

Eye candy...

am thrilled to find this review, written by Dolores Ayotte, author of A Woman's Voice (and other self-help books) who is a great inspirational writer and one of the best reviewers on Amazon. This is what she said about my art book, Inspired by Art: Fighting Goliath:

Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Inspired by Art: Fighting Goliath (The David Chronicles Book 4) by Author Uvi Poznansky

I have read and reviewed several books by talented Author Uvi Poznansky and I find "Inspired by Art: Fighting Goliath (The David Chronicles Book 4)" to be a unique and visually rewarding experience. One only needs to examine the cover to get a better indication of the artistic treat that is to be discovered between the pages.

This compilation of works by a variety of gifted artists and painters starts off with a picture of "the legendary site of the battle between David and Goliath". This is then followed by numerous artworks which enable the reader to catch a glimpse of David as seen through the creative eyes of others such a Vallotton, Barry Moser, Bernini, Rembrandt, etc. I especially liked Michelangelo artistic endeavors as several quotes are included in the book to better explain his views or the origin of his inspiration. One such quote is "A man paints with his brains and not with his hands". Who would better know this concept than Uvi Poznansky herself with her broad breath of creative abilities?

What a treat for those of us who haven't previously had the opportunity to see these lovely works of art. Thank you Uvi for this peek into the depiction of David fighting Goliath!

But kiss was far too simple a word to call this powerful connection

Feeling the hot slick glide of Michael’s tongue against hers, Kate’s head was reeling when she kissed him back. Just a kiss, she mentally swore. But kiss was far too simple a word to call this powerful connection that simply rocked her world. Surging through each and every nerve in her body, she could feel his kiss all the way down from the top of her head to the tips of her toes.
She hadn’t expected this. Usually, she couldn’t even stand being held – it was confining and restrictive. But when Murphy drew her against him, every bit of resistance fled. When he deepened his kiss, the heat of it melted away the last rational thought still left in her head. Sinking up against him, the burning pleasure was almost unbearable. Breathtaking and pulsating, the kiss went on and on.
And on.
Until, finally, common sense gradually invaded, and they slowly, reluctantly, began to pull apart.
Yet they still kept staring into each other’s eyes.
But then, Kate suddenly became aware of movement in the distance. One of the crew members was approaching the parking lot from the path.
She cleared her throat. “Let’s get outta here.”
Murphy reached for her hand. “Yeah. We definitely need to talk.”

~~Sin/Cover-Up/Healing~~

Here is the first review of my new art book, Inspired by Art: A Peek at Bathsheba, written by Top 500 Amazon reviewer:

Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is an incredible collection of paintings, etchings and sculptures that artists have completed throughout several centuries. The artists are from at least 10 countries and include France, America, Germany, Russia, Italy and Austria to name a few. The reader will be able to see Moreau, Rembrandt, Schwebel, Picasso, Raphael and Cezanne - once again just a few of those in the book. It should be noted that I read this on the Cloud and was able to admire the collection perfectly.

Some have quotes under the art work and one that caught my attention was from a Dutch man named Dirk, Vis. The quote reads 'The world today doesn't make sense, so why should I paint pictures that do?'.

As one imagines this volume covers the story of David and Bathsheba. The paintings start with the bath of Bathsheba, David's request to bring Bathsheba to him, the adultery, Uriah and his death, Nathan's arrival and David praying.

A most rewarding book for me to look at this snowy afternoon. It was also an excellent refresher for me about the story of King David and Bathsheba.

Healing does take place....but one must ask for it.

Most highly recommended

When he took her hand to kiss it

“Finally, we meet again,” he said so low, so deeply, she almost couldn’t hear it. Truth be told, she probably wouldn’t have been able to hear much of anything he said, her heartbeat was rattling so loudly inside her chest.
When he took her hand to kiss it, it amazed her how wobbly and unsteady her knees felt, as if she had just been hit hard by a low-lying branch. Yet, she didn’t fall. Instead, for the first time in weeks, a broad smile appeared on her face.
“Oh Hannah,” he murmured and leaned in close, still holding her hand. “Why didn’t you ever come back to me?”
“I swear I tried, truly I did, but I kept being stopped by my family.”
He gave her a quizzical look, but she knew now was not the time to be truthful. So much had escalated since their last meeting.
“Shall we go out onto the balcony?” he asked.
Nodding, she let him guide her outdoors, away from the waltzes, and the general conversation growing more sonorous by the hour. The evening chill had remained at its peak and the distant sound of soldiers maneuvering in their tented camps served as a soft, pleasant background.
