Cover reveal for The David Chronicles

You may wonder what goes into the design of the cover for my trilogy, The David Chronicles. I wanted to show, in a graphic manner, that the trilogy contains three volumes: Rise to PowerA Peek at Bathsheba, and The Edge of Revolt in a boxed set. So I designed the image of 'front cover' of the box and the image of the spines.

  • The front image of the box displays the title and the author name in golden lettering over the landscape image, which is my own art (and appears also on the cover of The Edge of Revolt.)
  • Each one of the spines is rounded, to give the impression that these are leather-bound volumes. The title of each volume appears in golden lettering, using a regal, flowing font as if written by the hand of my character, David. A small icon, depicting a detail from the front cover of each volume, appears at the bottom of the spine.
Once I has the two images, I combined them into a 3D representation of the box, and created the reflection by reversing the images upside down, and making them faded.
