Thrilled to find this review for my book A Favorite Son:
This is a modern retelling of the Bible story of Esau and Jacob and the rivalry between brothers. I found it interesting reading and it translates into a modern context. Rivalry between siblings and deceptions of parents by their children is a universal and timeless problem.
Yankle (Jacob) narrates the story and attempts to justify and explain his actions. The story can be read at a sitting and it is well written. It provides food for thought even in the twenty first century.
