I throughly enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed, the storyline keeps you riveted, and you want to try out the recipe. Mole sauce sounds really good after finishing the book. This whole series has been incredible so far.

Choked by a rubbery scent and by the taste of oxygen and fear

On Dr. Patel’s orders, a technologist is preparing my father for his ECG test. Ma stays with him. I slip out to the corridor, where a white-faced patient is being fitted with an oxygen mask.
At the sight of it, my mind is spinning full of bits of memories all the way back to the night I was brought here, to the ER, months ago. I recall struggling to release myself out of this thing, being choked by its rubbery scent and by the taste of oxygen and fear.
I call Michael.
“Miss you,” I say. And he says, “Miss you too.”
“Just, needed to hear your voice.”
“You know,” Michael says, “I did a reverse lookup in a few caller ID databases along with other private and public sources—”
“Oh!” I cry, my mind leaping ahead to finish his sentence for him. “You found out who owns that pink cellphone, the one I got last night from the waitress!”
“Yes, I did!”
“And?”
“Sure you want to know?”
“Sure I’m sure!”
Michael gurgles a laugh. He must be enjoying the moment, because he does his best to prolong it. “I’ll tell you who it doesn’t belong to: his wife.”
I gasp. At the other end, there’s a brief bark. I suppose my golden retriever, Browny, is as hungry for a bit of information as I am.
Impatient, I whisper, “Stop playing games, Michael, I’m dying to know—”
“Not now,” he says. “I’ll pick you up in an hour—is that a good time?—and then, we’ll go pay that person a visit.”
“Can’t wait!”
“How’s your father?”
“His vision is still blurry, and now his heart is acting up. They’re doing some tests right now. See you later.”
“See you soon, sweetheart.”

"This book was a roller coaster ride. I loved listening to it. I was enthralled listening to it, the imagery the use of words, I could smell the food they ate."

Excellent medical thriller!

Jan Romes is the author of witty contemporary romance books and a part-time fitness trainer. She also enjoys growing pumpkins and sunflowers. I am thrilled to find her review of my medical suspense thriller, Overdose:

I read the first two books in the series and enjoyed the characters and suspense. When the author came out with this book, I had to see what else she had in store for Ashley and Michael - the 2 main characters. Ms. Poznansky didn't disappoint. In this fast-paced medical thriller, she put Ashley together with the surgeon that helped her when she was in a coma in book one. Things felt off where the doctor is concerned, although Ashley wasn't sure why she felt that way and had to find out. She did some investigating, and shared her suspicions with Michael. She asked for more than moral support from him; she asked for some high-tech favors. Danger lurked around every corner when she came close to figuring things out. I tried to guess the ending, thank goodness I was wrong.

Heather Jane Hogan delivers depth and surprise to this already thrilling story. What a delight to hear her tell the story of Ash, who’s been out of her coma for a few months when headaches and dizziness require her to pay another visit to her brain surgeon, a mysterious man named Dr. Patel. Ms. Hogan, amazingly, does all the voices in this medical thriller, including Ash, the doctor, a waitress, and Ash’s boyfriend Michael, who is a computer genius and daring investigator. Ash and Michael suspect Patel of wrongdoing and decide to investigate him – which involves going into dangerous territory as Ash agrees to dine with him and attempt to question him. At the end of this “date,” something very alarming happens, and from that point we’re really off into high suspense. Together, Michael and Ash uncover the truth about the menacing and quite creepy Patel, whose history includes a 10-years-ago mysterious medical mission to India, and the recent suicide of his wife. This marvelous tale is brought wonderfully to life by Ms. Hogan, who delivers the final, terrific twist with a bang. Highly recommended, five stars!

Another great book by Uvi Poznansky!

A short and sweet review for my new thriller, Overdose:

September 24, 2019
So far I believe this is my favorite book by Uvi! It has everything! Mystery, a bit of romance, and I even learned a bit about India! I loved how she describes surroundings and smells to where it makes you feel right there experiencing it all yourself! Looking forward to reading more in this series!
